Development of Innovation Integrated Stormwater Treatment and Reuse Systems

The purpose of this research program was to develop innovative integrated stormwater treatment and reuse facilities, building upon the proven concepts of Water Sensitive Urban Design.

The main components of the program were:

Conduct an inventory of existing Australian practices in stormwater reuse
Develop innovative design solutions which cover the core functions of collection, treatment, storage, flood protection, and distribute water amongst the end uses, which includes urban waterways
Produce best practice recommendations
Facilitate adoption of the research outcomes by industry through demonstration projects in different regions of Australia

The project was completed in September 2006
