Applications for 2007 postgraduate research scholarships are being accepted by eWater CRC partner Universities now and close Tuesday 31 October 2006eWATER CRC RESEARCH:Applications are now being accepted for eWater CRC postgraduate scholarships. eWater CRC is a cooperative joint venture between many of Australia’s best water research providers, water industry businesses and state/territory government agencies. The eWater CRC’s research portfolio is organized around the following 5 programs:
Further information about eWater CRC can be found at eWater CRC SCHOLARSHIPS AND RESEARCH TRAINING:The eWater CRC is offering postgraduate scholarships commencing in March 2007 to outstanding PhD candidates enrolling at eWater CRC’s partner universities in the following project areas at MONASH UNIVERSITY (Vic).
The eWater CRC postgraduate candidates are also eligible to receive research operating funds and, from time to time, support to attend relevant scientific conferences and workshops. Additionally, eWater CRC students receive a special course of water-industry-focused professional training to augment their research development. eWater CRC postgraduate students will find themselves accepted within the professional culture of eWater CRC and invited to participate in eWater CRC activities, providing a forum in which they can present their research and receive feedback from water industry and program leaders. These research and development activities will also facilitate an adoption pathway for their research into the water industry. ELIGIBILITYThe eWater CRC top-up scholarships are open to applicants who have been offered an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) scholarship or University APA equivalent scholarship to start their PhD in 2007. The eWater CRC top-up scholarships ‘top up’ an APA base-level stipend to APA industry (APAI) level stipends. The eWater CRC full scholarships represent APAI level stipends. Candidates must be enrolled at one of the eWater CRC partner universities and universities require all scholarship applications (top-up and full) before the closing date for APA applications, which is 31 October 2006. Candidates must develop a research proposal that is strongly aligned with one of the above eWater CRC research program areas. At least one of the candidate’s nominated supervisors must be an official eWater CRC staff member. Applicants are encouraged to seek industry input while compiling the proposal and a list of contacts for each of eWater CRC’s industry partners can be found on the eWater CRC website. Industry-partner involvement in a candidate’s project may take the form of an industry supervisor (where they meet required university criteria) or industry project advisor.
